Synopsis

Screens with Captive Beauty.

Slab City is a desert community in southeastern California inhabited by hundreds of seasonal travelers and approximately 50 permanent residents who stay all year round, known as ‘Slabbers.’ When Builder Bill arrived in the late nineties, escaping a decade of debt and drug addiction in San Diego, he found an opportunity to remake his life by constructing a music theater he called ‘The Range.’ With a place for the residents to gather socially, the stage was set for Bill to fall in love, and ultimately create what is now Slab City’s most important event, the Prom.
