A self-proclaimed “patriot” drove into a gas station five days after 9/11 and shot a man he did not know, simply because the man was wearing a turban. An extended family of Sikhs had moved to the Phoenix area in the 1990s to escape religious intolerance and violence in their native India. They thought they had found heaven on earth. They began to serious doubts when not one, but two, brothers were murdered, and peace and justice seemed hard to find.
