We’re still reeling from our two starry nights earlier this month in celebration of our 2025 celluloid hero, Patricia Clarkson! Each year, the New Orleans Film Society honors noted figures in the film industry (with a spotlight on Louisiana film) and this year’s two-day celebration was one for the books.

Our first night was for the red carpet premiere screening of Clarkson’s new feature film, LILLY at The Prytania Theatre. We were joined by Clarkson’s friends and family, as well as some famous local faces including Helena Moreno, Terence Blanchard, Trishelle Cannatella and Clarkson’s dear friend, Bryan Batt, who was our 2024 Celluloid Hero.

The film itself is a stirring suspense drama based on the life of Fair Pay activist Lilly Ledbetter. The screening was followed by an exceptional Q+A with Clarkson and her nephew and fellow performer, Mac Alsfeld.

The next evening, we were delighted to present Clarkson with the 2025 Celluloid Hero award at our honorary reception at the Windsor Court. At this intimate evening, we were touched by speeches from both Brian Batt (who personally presented her the award) and, of course, Clarkson, who was particularly struck when evoking the memory of her mother, Jackie Clarkson, who led the New Orleans City Council for many years and was a stalwart of our community.

We can’t thank Patricia Clarkson, her team, and all who were able to join us for these beautiful two days in New Orleans, honoring a hometown cinematic dynamite with a storied career. Take a look through our star-studded photo gallery below.
