Last week, the New Orleans Film Society hosted its annual Director’s Circle Dinner—a special evening to honor and thank the incredible champions who help keep the film industry thriving in Louisiana. These are the people who believe in the power of story, support our artists and crews, and work behind the scenes to ensure film stays rooted right here in New Orleans.

We gathered in a private room at Copper Vine, where laughter flowed as easily as the Portuguese wine pairings. It was a night of celebration, connection, and love of all things cinema.

Executive Director Carroll Morton opened the evening with a thoughtful and heartfelt speech, expressing deep gratitude to our biggest donors for their unwavering support. Later, Board President Laura Ashley delivered a powerful message about the bright and ambitious future of the Film Society—one that continues to uplift artists, advocate for our industry, and deepen our cultural impact.

The highlight of the evening? A moving and emotional address from our guest of honor, producer and executive producer Todd Lewis (Captain Philips, Fantastic Four, Jason Bourne, Deep Water Horizon), who reminded us all why the fight to keep film in Louisiana is so vital—and so worth it.

Here’s to the people who make it possible—and to the future of film in New Orleans!
