The numbers are in, and this year’s South Pitch received more applications than ever! With a 30% increase in submissions, it is shaping up to be the largest event yet.
Now in its 15th season, South Pitch is the premiere platform for emerging southern artists to showcase their works in progress and receive funding. Five documentary and five narrative teams will have five minutes to pitch their film to industry panelists at the 36th Annual New Orleans Film Festival for feedback and funding. The festival is offering one-on-one pitch training, a $2,000 grant plus travel support, and All Access Passes to each team.
Films that have taken part in the program in the past include Katrina Babies, pitched by director Edward Buckles, Jr.; Silent Beauty, pitched by director/producer Jasmin Mara Lopez; The Inspection, pitched by producer Chester Gordon; Burning Cane, pitched by Phillip Youmans; and Ma Belle My Beauty, pitched by Marion Hill.
Stay tuned for fellows notifications coming in August!
