NOFS Celebrates 35 Years of Impact!

For 35 years, NOFS has been at the heart of New Orleans’ thriving film community, working to amplify the voices of emerging filmmakers. From our Academy-accredited New Orleans Film Festival (NOFF) to our programs like the Emerging Voices Directors Lab, Southern Producers Lab, and Year Round Development Resources, we’ve played a critical role in launching the careers of filmmakers who are now making waves globally.

The Homegrown for the Holidays campaign has a goal of raising $5,000 to continue our mission of shining bright on Louisiana filmmakers and amplifying the power of independent cinema in New Orleans. Your gift supports our mission of championing filmmakers so they bring their impactful stories to life—stories that resonate locally and beyond.

Your support directly sustains the critical programs that elevate Louisiana filmmakers, produce the New Orleans Film Festival, and provide year-round development resources. Your gift helps:

• $35 helps provide educational resources and development opportunities for emerging filmmakers.
• $100 supports the production of the New Orleans Film Festival, a key platform for showcasing local talent to national and international audiences.

• National Recognition: Filmmaker Magazine has named NOFF one of the “coolest film festivals in the world.”
• IDA Documentary Award Nominations: Four films from our 2024 NOFF lineup were nominated for prestigious IDA Documentary Awards.
