LOCATION & PARKING

Prytania Theatre Uptown is located in the Uptown neighborhood at 5339 Prytania St, New Orleans.

Street parking is available throughout the neighborhood. Accessible parking, including assisted arrival and departure, may be arranged by request. There is street bicycle parking throughout the neighborhood. Bikes are not permitted in the venue.

FACILITIES

Please note: Prytania Theatre Uptown is a historic theater that may present challenges to Festival attendees using mobility devices. We apologize for these challenges and will have trained staff available for assistance.

The entrance to Prytania Theatre Uptown is partially covered. There are two steps to the front door with two 60-inch doorways and pull door handles. Inside, there are multiple steps up and down to arrive at the theater doors with 36-inch doorways and pull door handles. Trained NOFF staff can escort attendees through an alternative entrance with a level approach to a theater door with a 40-inch doorway and pull door handles.

The theater seating is in two sections: a sloping floor section and a balcony, accessible by a lobby staircase with 18 steps. There are at least two accessible seating options in the floor section. These options have a slightly ramped approach and 48-inch width and 48-inch depth. There are companion seats adjacent to these accessible seats.

The permanent chairs are 18 inches wide. The back extends 24 inches from the seat which sits 15 inches from the ground. The armrests are stationary. Alternative chairs without armrests are available upon request. 

RESTROOMS

There are two public restrooms with 30.5-inch wide doors which do not meet ADA requirements. One has urinals and stalls, and the other only stalls. There are no private restrooms available. We are working on bathroom solutions for all patrons and invite your feedback to info@neworleansfilmsociety.org.

AMENITIES

Prytania Theatre Uptown sells food and drink (including alcoholic beverages) available for Festival attendees to purchase.

The 2024 New Orleans French Film Festival will feature in-person programming from February 22-26 and virtual programming from February 22-March 3.

For in-person screenings, please plan to arrive in time to be in your seat 15 minutes prior to showtime, or else your seat will be released. We will not issue refunds to ticket holders who arrive later than 15 minutes prior to the start of the film.

Use the Passes + Tickets tab to purchase. 

Passholders do not need to book tickets in advance. Passholders will show the QR code printed on their physical pass for entry into the theater.

We highly encourage individual ticket purchases to be made in advance as our physical screenings have limited capacity, and some Virtual Cinema screenings may have view capacity limitations. Physical tickets will not be provided. Simply show the ticket on your mobile device (our preference) or bring your personally printed copy to be scanned at entry.

Tickets are available online up until each physical screening begins. After that time, tickets will be available at the onsite Box Office, located at the venue entrance, by joining the Rush Line.

The Box Office will open one hour prior to the first screening and close one hour after the beginning of the last screening of the day. For the safety of our staff and guests, cash and checks will not be accepted. Please be prepared to pay with a debit or credit card, or Apple/Google Pay via smartphone.

If you are not going to use your purchased ticket, you can transfer it to a friend through Eventive using the email used for purchase.

If you can no longer attend and have purchased a pass or tickets, please consider your purchase a donation to the New Orleans Film Society. Your support means the world to us and helps us continue our year-round programs.

Passes and tickets are otherwise non-refundable. All sales are final.

YES! All customer payment information is submitted securely to our payment processor, Stripe, using the most stringent, PCI Level 1 compliant security protocols.  Eventive stores customer credit card details securely, and the festival staff does not have access to your credit card information. You may request that your payment information be unlinked from your account by choosing the “account settings” link at the upper right while logged in and viewing the New Orleans Film Society organization page.

Rush Lines will form in a designated location at the venue half an hour before the scheduled screening. Any available seats will be released on a first-come, first-served basis to those in line.

All Access Passholders will receive priority seating for the Rush Line.

YES! If you purchased the pass or ticket, you may transfer it to a friend using the email you used for purchase and logging into fff2024.eventive.org.

Transferring a pass or ticket:

Step 1 – Select My Passes or My Tickets from the top right menu. 

Step2: Click the gear to the right of SHOW BARCODE for the pass or ticket you wish to transfer.

Step 3: Select Transfer Pass or Transfer Ticket.

Step 4: Enter the email of the person you will be transferring the pass or ticket to.

At this time, the recipient will get an email prompting them to accept the pass or ticket. They will need to click the link in the email and accept the pass or ticket to complete the transfer.

You can purchase individual tickets or an All Access Pass to screen films in the 2024 New Orleans French Film Festival Virtual Cinema between February 22 to March 3. 

All feature length films and shorts programs playing in the 2024 New Orleans French Film Festival Virtual Cinema will be available to watch anytime from February 22 at 7pm CST through midnight on March 3rd.

Films unlocked on March 3rd will still be granted a 48 hour watch period.

UNLOCK WINDOW: 7 days
WATCH WINDOW: 48 hours

When you unlock a virtual screening, you will have the “unlock window” duration to begin watching. Once they start watching (i.e., click “Play”), you will have the “watch window” duration to play the content. 

To purchase and or use tickets and/or passes, you will be required to create an account in Eventive. You will need to log in to this account to access your tickets, passes, and virtual films, so hold on this information! Tickets will be sent to the email address attached to your account.

When you purchase a ticket you will also receive a confirmation email that includes information about when your selected program will be available for viewing and a link to open it up. Click the “Watch Now” button or visit your festival page and click on the original listing for the program. 

If you’ve already ordered a ticket with your logged in account, you will have the option to “Watch Now” from the virtual screening page. If you are not logged in the button will read “Unlock Now”. Simply log-in using the pop-out or the button in the top right corner of the page and proceed to Menu.

You can connect your computer to your TV or another external monitor via HDMI cable.

Due to content protection restrictions, the Screen Mirroring feature on Smart TVs and other devices cannot be used. Many browsers built into Smart TVs and other devices will NOT allow protected content to play.

If you have an Apple TV, Fire TV or Roku device, you can use the dedicated Eventive apps for these platforms after booking your ticket online. If you have a Chromecast, you can cast to it from Chrome on your computer or Android phone. If Chromecasting, must have 3rd generation or later Chromecast stick.

Important note: Due to content protection restrictions, the Screen Mirroring feature cannot be used. Additionally, HDMI or other video dongles cannot be connected to your device. Instead, use AirPlay or our dedicated TV app to watch on your TV.

To Chromecast from a mobile Android device:

Make sure your mobile phone or tablet is on the same Wi-Fi network as your Chromecast device. Tap the “Cast” icon in the lower right hand corner of the player. If no icon appears, this means casting is not supported on your device.

To Chromecast from computer:

Open the content in the Google Chrome browser. Click the “Cast” icon in the lower right hand corner of the player. If no icon appears, this means casting is not supported on your device.

Content can be watched on PCs running Windows 7, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10, and Intel-based Macs running macOS 10.12+. You can also watch films on Android tablets and phones using Chrome, and on iPhones and iPads using Safari.

Supported browsers: Google Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Opera. We recommend using the latest version of your browser. Internet Explorer is not supported.

To watch on an iPhone or iPad, use Safari on iOS 11.2 or later.

To watch using an Android device, use Chrome on Android 6.0 or later.

Selected films, Q&As and other programming will all include closed captions. All live events will have the automated closed caption feature turned on.

HOW DO I ENABLE ACCESSIBILITY OPTIONS? 

1. Hover the cursor over the video you are currently watching to make the video controls visible.
2. On the bottom right, click on the sprocket icon.
3. Click on the subtitles button and select English to enable on-screen captions. Click on Audio Track and select Audio Description to enable Audio Descriptions.

Note: If a film is in a language other than English and has subtitles burned into the image, you do not have to enable subtitles or captions. 

We are aiming to have every film supported with captions and encouraging filmmakers to create audio descriptions.

INTERNET SPEEDS

For any device, you will need a robust and reliable internet connection. Check your internet speed by running a speed test. The minimum recommended bandwidth for streaming is 5 Mbps download speed. For 1080p quality we recommend a minimum of 8 Mbps download speed. 

PASS – Think of it as a virtual badge. You will use it to unlock virtual programs before and during the festival.  

LIVE STREAM PROGRAM – For our purposes, a Live Stream event will include those that happen at a specific time and occur live (Q&A, Panel Discussions, Round Tables) and/or are the recorded versions of live events that occurred earlier in the festival. 

GEO-BLOCK – On rare occasions, the festival will be asked to limit the audience of a given program to a specific geographic area. Should a program be geo-blocked, it will be noted in the home page for the presentation and will also be found on the watch page of the virtual festival in the Geo-Blocked section.

AVAILABILITY WINDOW – This is the time frame during which a program is available.

UNLOCK WINDOW – This is the time frame one has after unlocking a program to begin watching it.

WATCH WINDOW – Once a program is unlocked, the watch window is the amount of time one has to view the program.
