For 35 years, the New Orleans Film Society (NOFS) has been a cornerstone of New Orleans’ thriving film community, empowering emerging filmmakers and celebrating the art of independent cinema. From our Academy-accredited New Orleans Film Festival (NOFF) to programs like the Emerging Voices Directors Lab, Southern Producers Lab, and Year-Round Development Resources, NOFS has played a vital role in launching the careers of filmmakers now making waves across the globe.

This holiday season, we’re turning the spotlight on the incredible talent nurtured by NOFS. Homegrown for the Holidays is a celebration of the filmmakers, programs, and partners who make our mission possible. Together, we champion the stories that bring Louisiana’s creativity to the world.

As part of this celebration, we invite you to join us in making an impact. On Giving Tuesday, December 3, we kick off the giving season. Become one of the 35 stars shining in honor of our 35 years.

Your Support Matters

Join us in shining a light on Louisiana filmmakers this season. Our goal is to raise $5,000 this season for the programs that empower emerging talent and amplify the voices of independent filmmakers. Your gift helps:

  • $35 helps provide educational resources and development opportunities for emerging filmmakers.
  • $100 supports the production of the New Orleans Film Festival, a key platform for showcasing local talent to national and international audiences.
  • $250 funds filmmaker programs that provide hands-on mentorship, workshops, and access to industry professionals, helping filmmakers develop their projects and careers.
  • $500+ ensures that NOFS can continue to strengthen the New Orleans film industry, positioning it for growth through key partnerships, resources, and strategic outreach.

Throughout the month, we will share the stories of filmmakers whose lives have been changed by NOFS. These success stories will remind us all of the importance of supporting local talent and how your gift can make a lasting impact.
